Biography

Rob Parker is an experienced Divorce and Family Solicitor, recognised by the Legal 500 as a “standout lawyer who is always conscientious and meticulous”.

He helps clients who are in a period of personal crisis, steering them through the often complex and stressful process of a divorce or separation, with sensitivity and discretion at all times. Rob has a particular specialism in resolving complicated high-net-worth financial matters, often involving valuable properties, business interests, pensions, inherited assets and trusts. He has a particular interest in matters involving international assets and can work flexibly and adeptly to the needs of ex-pat clients.  He has extensive knowledge and experience in Family Law which helps ensure that all his clients benefit from getting the best possible outcome for their future.

Rob understands the importance of clear, honest communication. He puts client care first, offering a prompt, efficient and flexible service at all times. A priority is always to get to know his clients so that he can focus on working in a way that suits them best. A non-confrontational, dignified approach is often key to resolving matters amicably, but equally, Rob does not flinch in taking a more firm and tenacious approach where circumstances dictate.

Whilst much of Rob’s work involves finding resolution at the end of a relationship, he also assists clients who are embarking on new relationships, creating families and looking to protect their position too. He provides sound and robust advice on pre- and post-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements.

He is at the forefront of pioneering a more dignified way of resolving family disputes in the local area as the chair of the North Hampshire Collaborative Group and as a full member of Resolution.  Rob’s leadership has allowed him to develop a network of expert connections meaning he is well-placed to offer a holistic approach to conflict resolution. Many of Rob’s clients live in and around Hampshire, on the South Coast, in London or live outside of the UK.


Work Highlights

• Successfully negotiating an amicable out-of-court settlement involving £7million of assets comprising lucrative business interests, commercial property, overseas property, agricultural land and substantial pensions. 

• Achieving a favourable negotiated settlement on behalf of a high-earning senior executive of an investment bank whose personal wealth included property, share options and final salary pensions.  The outcome included a clean break.

 

• Representing a wife in fiercely contested financial and children court proceedings.  This included negotiating a significant capital settlement on her behalf, as well as providing robust representation in the children proceedings which enabled her to relocate and make a fresh start with the children in her new desired location in the UK.

 

• Advising on and negotiating sophisticated financial settlements on behalf of wealthy individuals with assets in the UK and abroad.
