Biography
Michelle Scott is an Associate within the Employment Team at Lamb Brooks.
Michelle qualified as a solicitor in 2009, initially specialising in criminal law, before moving into employment law. Michelle advises employers and senior executives on all employment law and related matters.
Specialisms include advising on both sex and pregnancy and maternity discrimination, unfair dismissal, and negotiating exits for senior executives (including employees who are also Directors and Shareholders) and advising on complex settlement agreements.
Michelle is also developing a specialism in whistleblowing and has a strong interest in whistleblowing within public sector organisations such as the NHS.
Work Highlights
- Acting for a company client in defending a claim for discrimination, which resulted in a very early settlement saving the company high costs and management time.
- Acting for a company in an unfair dismissal claim which resulted in the claim being struck out at an early stage of proceedings.
- Acting for a company during a post-TUPE reorganisation resulting in all involved employees waiving their rights under settlement agreements.
- Acting for an individual in an unfair dismissal and direct sex discrimination claim which resulted in the employee securing a 6-figure settlement sum before the final hearing.
- Acting for an individual in a whistleblowing and automatic unfair dismissal claim which settled for 500% more than the company had originally offered.
