International Men’s Day 2025

On the 19th of November, we celebrate men, as it’s International Men’s Day. The day marks an important awareness of the well-being of men and boys.

A day like today will hopefully encourage healthier conversations about mental health, identity, family life, and finances, so men aren’t keeping their struggles bottled up.

A Day for Reflection and Support

Modern life brings a variety of pressures, ranging from financial strain, workplace demands, family responsibilities, and social expectations. Many men feel like they have to take on these stressful responsibilities alone and quietly. International Men’s Day aims to acknowledge these experiences and encourage open conversations about them, and to indicate that men aren’t alone.

The day focuses on several important themes:

Health and Wellbeing

Men are statistically less likely to seek medical help or talk about concerns early. International Men’s Day highlights the importance of regular check-ups, proactive mental health support, and recognising early signs of stress, burnout, or low mood. Encouraging men to take their health seriously remains a key goal.

Positive Connections and Community

Supportive relationships, whether with colleagues, friends, or family, are vital for well-being. The day encourages communities and workplaces to create spaces where men feel comfortable sharing challenges and seeking help when they need it.

Challenging Expectations

Outdated assumptions about how men “should” behave can prevent open conversations. International Men’s Day promotes a more balanced understanding of masculinity, recognising that strength can be found in vulnerability, empathy, and communication.

Recognising Contributions

The day also celebrates the contributions men make every day: as parents, partners, mentors, colleagues, and community members. Highlighting these positive roles helps counter negative stereotypes and encourages healthy male role modelling.

At Lamb Brooks, we regularly support clients through some of life’s most significant and emotionally challenging moments. Recognising the importance of well-being, particularly for those who may find it harder to speak up, is part of our commitment to the communities we serve.
