La-Toyah Mckenzie is a Solicitor within the Family Law Department at Lamb Brooks.

She helps individuals navigate their legal family issues, including but not limited to divorce, finance and children. She enjoys family work because she wants to help people navigate difficult situations following the breakdown of a family unit. Ultimately life does not end after separation, a new journey begins! La-Toyah believes in helping people regain control of their lives and look forward to new beginnings.

La-Toyah qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and 12 months of her training contract prior to qualification was undertaken in the family care team. She developed a passion for children work over this time and is now training to be able to advocate at all court levels, including those currently reserved for barristers.

In 2014 she volunteered for the Kids Company within the legal team, a charity that advocates for child rights. She assisted in the launch of the campaign ‘See the Child, Change the System’ and volunteered as a legal researcher to ensure the needs of looked after children are met equally across different boroughs in the UK.

She is in the process of building a specialism in children matters including surrogacy and special guardianship. Her approach is calm and empathetic, although tenacious and determined. La-Toyah will always aim to achieve the best possible outcome for her client by focussing on the issues at hand and keeping clients properly advised and informed throughout.

Where children are involved, she aims to ensure the interests of the child are not lost; she will always remind clients that children are of paramount consideration.

Outside of work La-Toyah is an active member of her church and helps lead the children’s ministry. She  loves to dance, attend classes and will occasionally host her own workshops and classes for adults.
